Our Name, Our Mission
About Yavneh Psychology
A place of refuge — where you're seen, understood, and cared for exactly as you are.
Our Mission
Through excellent, evidence-based care, education, and collaboration, Yavneh is working to transform how the field understands and treats complex emotional and relational difficulties — replacing hopelessness with a path forward, for patients and providers alike.
Meaning
Why "Yavneh"?
The name Yavneh Psychology was inspired by Yavne, a city in central Israel that became a place of refuge for the Jewish people after the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE. When Jerusalem fell, Yavne was where people could reside and survive through a time of persecution.
My vision for this practice is exactly that — a space where anyone can come to seek refuge, a safe place to heal. Even for an hour a week, our time together strives to be a place where you feel seen, understood, and cared for in all the ways that you are you.
In this place of refuge, you'll hopefully find the inspiration to look inward, talk about what really matters, and emerge — in time — having not only survived what brought you to therapy, but aware of your resilience in a newfound way.
Yavneh Psychology, PLLC was founded by Dr. Eliza Stucker-Rozovsky and is based out of Martinsburg, WV. It's a completely virtual practice, so you can do this work from the comfort of your own home.
This name, and everything it stands for, belongs to the practice — the philosophy and values below are what every clinician at Yavneh works from, now and as we grow.
Our Philosophy
Three ideas that shape how every clinician at Yavneh practices.
Symptoms tell a story
Often, what we call symptoms in the present are ways we learned to respond to our environment when we were younger. The problem isn't that you adapted — it's that this adaptation no longer serves you.
Change is always possible
We don't always get to decide what happens to us, especially when we're young. But it's never too late to gain agency in your own life.
You are more than a diagnosis
It's not just about what's "wrong" with you. You are so much more than a diagnosis.
Yavneh Values
The principles that guide how Yavneh shows up — for patients, for referral partners, and for the community.

01 · Relationships
Healing happens through relationships.
Meaningful change occurs in connection — with ourselves, others, and our communities. Relationships can wound, and relationships can heal.

02 · Caring & Connection
People matter more than profits.
We lead with compassion, kindness, and genuine care — every interaction is a chance to offer connection and reduce suffering, whether or not someone becomes a patient.

03 · Humility
We are always learning.
None of us has all the answers. We approach our work with curiosity and openness, remaining willing to listen, grow, admit mistakes, and change course.

04 · Excellence
People deserve our best.
We hold ourselves to high standards in clinical care because the quality of this work directly impacts the lives of the people we work with.

05 · Growth & Innovation
Better is always possible.
We challenge outdated assumptions and welcome new ideas. Mistakes are opportunities to learn — it's never too late to change.
Based in Martinsburg, WV — practicing entirely virtually. We work with clients across West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia, so you can do this work from wherever feels safest and most comfortable to you.
